broder cafe

broder cafe

One of my favourite reasons to come down to Portland is for sure the food. Here is Broder cafe, a swedish style breakfast joint, and turns out to be my new favourite place. We tried it when we were down in portland at the end of this summer, and i was so excited to be able to have it again this time around. Definitely a recommendation (and i can speak for all four of us that were out there when i say that). They serve stumptown as their house coffee, but if that wasn't good enough for you, the food is amazing too. Pictured here is the breakfast hash (the walnut toast is amazing), and a shared round of their mini pancakes with lingonberry jam and lemon curd dipping sauce.

I tried voodoo donuts the first time I ever came to Portland a few years ago, and it's still my favourite. It's hard to beat a place that offers so many flavours, and can still keep their pricing as regular donut shop prices even when it has blown up so much. Not to mention, their packaging is adorable. They're basically always open, but definitely expect to have to wait in line. My favourite flavour is their oreo cookies and cream.

Yes, yes, it's pretty pretentious. But stumptown is a Portland staple, so we had to check out the actual coffee shop. I personally love the taste of their coffee, and if you're lucky, you might actually manage to snag a table! Finally, I'm not going to forget to mention Chipotle as my all time favourite thing to eat in the states but that's pretty self explanatory...
